In
conjunction with the Golf Foundation, Brian Connor's House
of Golf has established a Junior Performance Academy at Manchester
Golf Club. With pupils as young as five, the PGA staff headed
by Professional Scott Connor (pictured right) and Assistant
Matt Hough work on a one-to-one basis with boys and girls
and also teach juniors in groups.
The
Junior Golf Passport which is promoted by the Golf Foundation
has proved to be a great motivation for the youngsters, as
it provides key skills for game improvement at a steady pace.
All areas of the game are worked on throughout the scheme
and using the Tri Golf scheme the House of Golf team has established
links with local schools.
Summer
Camps 2011
This
summer the Junior Performance Centre will be running Summer
Camps throughout the holidays. House of Golf professional
Matt Hough will be hosting the Camps - he has a wealth of
experience to share with the youngsters and with the emphasis
being on fun, your young golfer is sure to learn a lot this
Summer.
Summer
Camps give juniors the opportunity to meet other golfers of
their age and improve their overall golfing ability. The cost
of a summer camp is just £25 for 3 hours including balls,
snacks and drinks. Tiny golfers can also take part in the
first hour of a Summer Camp which costs just £10.

Junior
Performance visit to the Ping Factory April 2009
House of Golf Professional
Scott Connor recently arranged a trip to the Ping factory in Gainsborough
with the help of Manchester Golf Club Junior Organiser Keith Hough
and member Steve Daynes, the group consisted of junior golfers who
are members at Manchester Golf Club or are taking part in lessons
with the Junior Performance Team.
Everyone
was treated to a tour of the Ping Factory, they learned how clubs
are assembled at the factory and about the importance that custom
fitting plays in game improvement.
Scott
tells us Ping laid out the red carpet for these young golfers
and gave them an insight into the golf industry that they will never
forget this trip was unique to House of Golf but it is an
experience that we would love to repeat in the future.
The juniors
were fantastic asking relevant questions and showing knowledge of
golf that is far beyond their years. Thank you Karsten UK!
National
Skills Challenge 2009
The
Juniors that are taking part in lessons at House of Golf are
making real progress, some of them are taking part in the
National Skills Challenge. Last year Eliza and Tom Thorpe
completed their skills challenge. Eliza (age 6) received a
Silver award and Tom achieved an outstanding Platinum award.
The
first National Skills Challenge of 2009 will be held at Manchester
Golf Club on Thursday 9th April and Friday 10th April. If
