In
conjunction with the Golf Foundation, Brian Connor's House
of Golf has established a Junior Performance Academy at Manchester
Golf Club. With pupils as young as five, the PGA staff headed
by Assistant Scott Connor (pictured right) work on a one-to-one
basis with boys and girls and also teach juniors in groups.
The
Junior Golf Passport which is promoted by the Golf Foundation
has proved to be a great motivation for the youngsters, as
it provides key skills for game improvement at a steady pace.
All areas of the game are worked on throughout the scheme
and using the Tri Golf scheme the House of Golf team has established
links with local schools.
The
Juniors that are taking part in lessons at House of Golf are
making real progress, some of them are taking part in the National
Skills Challenge. Eliza and Tom Thorpe have both recently completed
their second skills challenge. Eliza (age 6) received a Silver
award and Tom achieved an outstanding Platinum award.
SUMMER
CAMPS 2008
Following
on from the huge success of last year's Summer Camps, Scott is now
organising dates for this forthcoming holiday period. The camps
will be run on selected dates during July and August and will last
for three hours. The Camps will cover all aspects of the game, using
the Junior Passport Scheme or extending their skills even further
and will provide a great opportunity for your children to make real
progress during the warmer weather. The cost of the Camps is £25

of the aims of the Junior Performance Academy is to share
a wealth of experience with up and coming golfers. Advice
can be given on tournaments to enter and golfing schedules,
all tailored to enhance the individual's development.
