Brian
Connor
|
Brian
Connor is a Class AA Professional and level lll coach. He is the
founder of House of Golf. Born on the Isle of Bute on the West Coast
of Scotland he has been in the golf industry since the age of 10
when he first became shop assistant at his home course of Rothesay.
A
move 'down south' took him to Henley-on-Thames where he played much
of his golf as a young assistant on golf courses such as Wentworth
and Sunningdale. At the age of 19 years he moved to Shaw Hill Golf
and Country Club in Chorley, where he became qualified as a PGA
Professional.
A
short but happy stint at both Heaton Park and Brookdale Golf Club
started off Brian's reputation as a retailer to be reckoned with.
It was at this time that Brian started to look seriously at the
concept of custom fitting.
|
| |
In
1987 Brian became the Professional at Manchester Golf Club and the
rest, as they say, is history. During the past 21 years, Brian and
his staff have created a golf establishment that is respected throughout
the UK. They are second to none when it comes to golf retail, custom
fitting, club renovation and tuition. The advent of the new Golf
Performance Centre in 2008 will take House of Golf to another level
in the golf industry.
Brian
is very proud of his team of staff at House of Golf and he would
like to introduce you to them and their area of expertise.

Fitting. Stan has been with the House of Golf for the last 20 years.
A single figure handicapper for most of his golfing career, Stan
is exceptional in providing just what a golfer is looking for, along
with top rate customer service.
During
those twenty years Stan has gleened considerable knowledge from
visits to the factories of today's leading golf manufacturer's.
One of those visits was to Ping in Arizona! Stan tells us - 'One
of the main reasons for my visit to Arizona was for Ping to show
me just how important custom fitting is to a golfer, and then to
show me how to custom fit correctly. The experience and knowledge
that I gained during that time was invaluable, and has certainly
stood me in good stead for all the fittings that I have done since
then and they have been considerable! This
is why I can confidently say that whether you are a man of 6ft 9,
or a lady of 4ft 6, we can supply golf clubs to fit you.'
